Taking Shape

The redecorating the bathroom is getting closer to being done.  Little by little I can see Kari's taste (and mine) replacing the childlike "beach" theme the last owner's had decorated in the bathroom.  This is more elegant, more of a vintage theme in the border which we played off of. Kari learns a lot about herself when we take on a project like this.

For those that don't know this about my daughter, she was/ is an addict.  She has been sober for more than 3 years.  However, the road of recovery is a long one and very much a part of our story.  When I say she is learning about herself, she is. She checked out of life for years, and while others would be learning and developing, she was stuck.  I believe part of recovery is getting unstuck and developing.  It doesn't take over night.  It takes a while and it can be different for each person.  No doubt I will write a lot about this topic and how we are doing on this journey as I go.
