Advent Calendar - December 17

DECEMBER 17

Today the entire Student Affairs of our college has a "Holiday" event after work.  It begins at 4 pm and ends at 6 pm.  This is when all the offices come together such as cashiers, financial aid, student life, enrollment services, advising, etc.  Hopefully I will have more on this later.

Monday we woke up to the news that there were two victims in the Sydney siege.  One was a young woman with three young children.  One was the manager of the café they were all held hostage.  What we learned since then was that he was also a graduate of Washington State University... a graduate here is "one of us" in Washington state, as you can imagine.

Tuesday morning we woke to the news that children had been murdered and other victims in a school.  I can't imagine what would possess anyone to do such evil things.  Those responsible are dealing with the devil now.  (I have a long ways to go to be more like Jesus.)

The dinner last night was good.  It was nice to see the twins and it warms my heart when they give Riley a big hug.  We used our gift certificate and it was "Tavern Tuesday" which is a special.  Our bill came to $1.08.  Plus we still have the free movie ticket to see the Hobbit from the gift certificate special.

One week from today is Christmas Eve... Have a great day!

  2. Hi Danna. This world has gone insane. There is so much hate. It's heartbreaking. This is supposed to be a peaceful time yet these whack jobs want to kill people and innocent children. It makes me sick to me so angry. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy your party tonight. It sounds like it's going to be fun.

  3. Hi Danna, it is truly heartbreaking to hear news of so much nonsense killing and violence. Makes you want to hide in the house and never come out sometimes. Lots of hugs!
